My Title Sequence

For my title sequence piece I am working with Nichola Daley, Emily Gladding and Leah Hunt. During our group discussion we chose the genre 'thriller'. We also contributed our owns ideas towards the final piece.

The ideas we came up with were:

SOUND: We decided to use a jewellery box with a dancing ballerina at the start of the title sequence with the names featuring the actors.

LOCATION: We had many ideas for the location where we could set the title sequence. Our first idea was to use a school classroom, but not everyone agreed. Therefore we started to think of other locations. The next location we thought of was an old rugby shower room which everyone accepted. We expanded on this and thought about making the room look abandoned, smelly and damp.

BLACK/WHITE OR COLOUR: We all decided to produce the title sequence in black and white. However there will be a scene where we are going to show red blood dripping and expanding in water. We got this idea from the opening scene of 'The Ring'. This creates a sinister look because it is a sign of murder and death. Also this would stand out as red is a primary colour and is bold.

CHARACTERS:
Monica Rabadia (Me)
I am going to play a part in the title sequence. I will be acting as one of the girls being kidnapped and locked up in the abandoned room. The other girls are not going to survive, i will be the only one to escape.
Nichola Daley is playing a part where she is also kidnapped but she doesn't escape as she is tied up to a chair, she has make-up running down her face from where she has been crying so much.
Emily Gladding is playing a part where she is lying on the floor as she will be the first to be killed.
Leah Hunt plays a part where she is so close to escaping with my character but trips and gets dragged by the feet.

WHAT OUR TITLE SEQUENCE IS BRIEFLY GOING TO BE LIKE

Through out the whole title piece we are going to have an old jewellery box playing in the background.

We are going to switch the camera from one scene to another. There is a model of the room which the 'killer' has made. This shows the killer has planned out the kidnapping as he has made a detailed model of the room. We got this idea from 'CSI'.

As the camera zooms out of the scene we will see the killer making the model of the room. It won't show the killers face, just his hands. The killer will be wearing leather gloves as this gives it a mysterious look and also they're good to hide DNA fingerprints.

The next scene will be of the blood dripping in a sink an expanding in water (in colour). We are going to research on how to make fake blood look realistic. If it doesn't work then we will buy fake blood from a Halloween/ fancy dress shop.

It then shows the killers hands placing mini models of the four victims where he is going to lock/tie them up.

The camera then zooms out into a dead body (Emily) lying on the floor and another victim tied up to a chair (Nichola). We see a close up on Nichola tied up crying, we see her mascara running down her face

The next scene is then two girls (Me and Leah) running down a long corridor with a light at the end. Leah falls and then gets dragged away while I keep running and escape.

The scenes flicker from one to another in a blink (the speed of an eye blinking fast.)

The final shot would be the grey fuzz you get when someone changes the channel, as the camera zooms out of the T.V set, it reveals a room where someone sits at a table with leather gloves.

The jewellery box with the ballerina dancing ends the title sequence.
